The Fool's Journey - The Lovers

Legacy of the Divine Tarot

Continuance of The Fool's Journey - The Magician, The High Priestess, The Empress, The Emperor, Faith

The Fool pulled out the book given to him by the Magician and opened it. Flicking through the pages, he discovered that his knowledge had grown during his journey. He’d learned that everything he needed to succeed was within his grasp or within himself. He’d come to know that the world revolved around nature, society, and religion, but that his path was his to choose.

He returned the items to his bag and stood. Before him, an altar appeared. The most beautiful woman he’d ever seen knelt before a curled snake. The Fool approached the two creatures and knelt before them.

The snake’s tongue lashed out and words flowed from its lips. “It is time...ssss...this woman...ssss... is your other half.”

The Fool stared at the reptile, unable to speak.

The woman reached out a hand, touched his shoulder, and said, “It is time for you to learn to love another. I have been chosen as your mate, if you will have me.”

Warmth spread through the Fool’s chest, and a bright light encircled him. He smiled. “I do accept you. I love you.”

The Fool pulled his mate into his arms and told her of his journey and of all he had learned. As he came to the end of his story, she smiled at him and said, “Yes, I know. I have taken the same journey. It has led me here - to you.”

In the distance, horse hooves pounded the earth, and the lovers rose to discover four horses running toward them.
